PASTORAL CARE & STUDENT WELLBEING MASTERPLANS
Echo research has extensive experience in reviewing and evaluating school pastoral care programs and processes. After preliminary meetings with key staff to ensure clarity of process, a comprehensive pastoral care review proposal will be presented. The proposal will typically cover:
- Reviewing and presenting a report of current published quality evidence related to student wellbeing/pastoral care relevant to school needs
- Analysing data the school already holds and identifying the types of data that may be missing to make more informed evidence-based decisions
- Coaching key staff and supporting the school to work through its review of current practices and policy
- Collation of data to inform current planning for action
- Engagement of key staff through workshops
CONSULTING
Our consultancy services assist in all aspects of project design and implementation with staff having many years of experience in leading large research projects. We can assist with:
- Writing literature reviews and sourcing information
- Identifying aims and goals
- Designing methodology to achieve and measure objectives through both quantitative and qualitative means
- Collecting quantitative data through surveys and qualitative data through focus groups
- Presentation of results to boards, stakeholders, staff, parents and students
EVALUATION & REVIEWS
Echo research will design and develop an evaluation framework for projects and programs. The process will involve:
- Identifying objectives of the projects and programs and the evaluation strategy to measure outcomes and impact
- Determination, design and coordination of appropriate data collection methods
- A thorough data analysis plan using appropriate statistical analysis to interpret the data
- Dissemination of findings through reports, publications, briefings, and presentations
PRESENTATION
Echo Research staff are available to present at conferences, schools, community organisations, businesses and government on areas focussing on child and adolescent social, mental and emotional wellbeing.
PRODUCTS
Echo Research has a suite of evidence based fact sheets and discussion papers on areas pertaining to student social, emotional and mental wellbeing such as bullying, cybersafety, transition, and friendships. An online tool ‘Review and Renew’ is currently being developed which allows schools to assess their current pastoral care policies and practices. Echo research has contributed to books involving subject areas such as bullying, cyberbullying, program development and implementation, smoking, and adolescent social and emotional health.
